Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to serve as an Industrial Yard Lead at our facility located in Bridgeton, MO.

Role Overview:

In this position, you will manage the day-to-day activities of our industrial distribution yard. Your primary focus will be coordinating the movement, staging, and arrangement of heavy-duty items like pipe. By facilitating efficient truck traffic and precise order processing, you will act as the main liaison for our drivers and yard team while upholding high standards for material handling safety.

Key Duties:

Oversee all yard activities, encompassing the staging, loading, and unloading of materials.
Supervise yard staff and forklift operators to help the team achieve accurate and timely order completion.
Double-check all outgoing shipments to ensure they are correct.
Keep the yard area orderly, clean, and clearly labeled for product identification.
Promote a culture of safety by strictly enforcing protocols for rigging and heavy machinery operation.
Provide guidance and mentorship to help develop the skills of yard personnel.
Coordinate with dispatch, sales, and warehouse departments to establish workload priorities.
Contribute to inventory accuracy by assisting with cycle counts and resolving stock discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Manage the daily flow of yard tasks, such as organizing, loading, and unloading inventory.
Guide yard employees and forklift drivers to ensure the team meets order fulfillment goals.
Confirm the precision of all outbound cargo.
Ensure the yard remains tidy, well-organized, and that all products are properly identified.
Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by enforcing heavy equipment and rigging safety standards.
Support the growth of the team by assisting in the training and coaching of yard staff.
Facilitate communication between the sales, warehouse, and dispatch teams to streamline daily tasks.
Help improve inventory management by participating in material counts and identifying discrepancies.
