Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented, positive, confident, smart, energetic, and thoughtful leader to help build and run a great team for our exciting, fast-growing company. Previous experience managing bakery operations is required (other food production management may be considered). Required tasks (recognizing some of these may be done by someone that works for the manger):

Provide leadership and stability in our bakery and commissary operations while building an efficient and confident team, enabling the company to fully leverage our growth opportunities with great bakery and commissary-style products at an optimal cost
Maintains department records of productivity and inventory, including production schedules, timecards, accident reports, and waste logs
Perform all position responsibilities following established GMP, Food Safety, Personal Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Familiarity with OSHA/FDA/ODA
Continually negotiates with vendors for best pricing and quality.
Implements and executes proper health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and addresses any concerns immediately; ensures bakery is clean and organized
Plans and prepares (or guides production manager in planning and preparing) work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties; makes sure that employees are respected and allocated to their most appropriate roles
Ensures employees are preparing products according to company recipes (for all products) and standards and that we are continuing to provide products of the highest quality
Monitors inventory of finished goods and supplies for our café’s, and wholesale and catering customers; determines and coordinates the purchase of ingredients and packaging supplies
Works with packaging suppliers and our designers to make sure all packaging and labels or thorough and complete
Plans product and materials distribution to customers and coordinates delivery with drivers
Ensures that our team is working closely with customers and responding to their needs
Works with sales team to plan for and deliver product, assists in sales activities as needed and to make sure production capability matches sales goals
Supports owner in creation of strategic plans and associated budgets and financial goals
Responsible for timely maintenance of financial books (QuickBooks) and payments from customers and to vendors; develops supporting staff, as necessary
Works with third-party producers that we may contract with
Assist with the continued development of catering operations
Addresses all equipment issues immediately and communicates with the facilities team (outsourced if needed) to coordinate necessary repairs
Develops and maintains productive, positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors, and business partners
Is available for and provides ongoing training and coaching and communicates regularly with all commissary staff; possesses coaching/mentoring skills and blends support with accountability and challenging others to grow
Documents performance or behavior concerns of staff members via written write-ups, coaching documentation and/or goal setting
Adheres to and reinforces policies, procedures, and training guidelines
Participates in the creation/evolution of product offerings
