Full Job Description

Kitchen Supervisor

Family-owned restaurant with benefits included, one weekend off per month and built in days off for Christmas and Thanksgiving. We specialize in serving quality American food and hand-crafted ales in a relaxed pub atmosphere. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for kitchen functions, including food preparation and maintenance of quality standards, training of employees in cooking methods, preparation, plate presentation, portion, cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Engage in, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of the kitchen
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Blackhorse Pub and Brewery
Direct and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of the kitchen
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Check and maintain proper food handling and refrigeration temperature control areas.
Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes, and waste control procedures
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards
Evaluate and enforce personnel policies as appropriate
Oversee and ensure that restaurant policies regarding personnel are followed, and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any violations of company policies, rules, and procedures
Attend all scheduled employee/manager meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
Coordinate with and assist fellow employees/managers to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant
Maintain appropriate cleaning schedules for all areas of the kitchen and equipment
