Join Our Historic Hospitality Team!

Position Summary:

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in our culinary team by preparing and cooking dishes that meet our high standards for quality, taste, and presentation. This position requires efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment, strict adherence to food safety protocols, and strong collaboration with fellow kitchen staff. You will work across multiple stations and be instrumental in delivering an exceptional dining experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and portion standards.
Master cooking techniques across stations including Grill, Sauté, Appetizers, Fryer, and Cold Side.
Ensure dishes are cooked to order, visually appealing, and served promptly.

2. Station Management

Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients and supplies.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures for quality and safety.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of your station at all times.

3. Quality Assurance

Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation.
Follow recipes precisely to uphold the restaurant’s culinary standards.
Report any food quality or equipment issues to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

4. Health & Safety Compliance

Adhere to all food handling, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
Use kitchen equipment safely and ensure it is cleaned and maintained properly.
Follow health regulations to keep the kitchen safe for staff and guests.

5. Inventory & Stock Management

Monitor and report inventory needs for your station.
Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries.
Rotate stock appropriately to reduce waste and spoilage.

6. Team Collaboration

Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Communicate clearly to coordinate food preparation and resolve any issues during service.

7. Guest Experience Support

Accommodate special dietary needs and guest requests when required.
Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the highest quality standards.

8. Cleaning & Maintenance

Regularly clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment.
Follow scheduled deep cleaning tasks to keep the kitchen clean and compliant.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity and stamina to work in a busy kitchen environment.

Working Conditions:

Work in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous equipment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
