Pediatric Cardiologist (Physician) – Locum Tenens

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Job Type: Locum Tenens (Inpatient & On-Call)

Start Date: October 2026 (Ongoing)

Schedule: 1 Week Per Month (24/7 On-Call Block)

This turn-key locum assignment is ideal for an experienced, Board-Certified Pediatric Cardiologist seeking a high-value week-on/week-off style arrangement. Enjoy dedicated daytime sonographer support, full EPIC EMR integration, and a clear daily routine with the flexibility to stay off-site outside of core clinical hours when not called in.

Key Position Highlights & Perks

Predictable Monthly Cadence: Work just 1 week per month (Monday 8:00 AM to Monday 8:00 AM).
Off-Site Flexibility: No need to sit in the hospital 24/7! Outside of core rounding and consult hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), you are free to remain off-site while on call unless needed clinically.
Sonographer Support: Dedicated in-house sonographers perform daytime echocardiograms (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
Streamlined Practice Model: Focus strictly on inpatient care and consults—the local group manages all outpatient clinic responsibilities.

Schedule & Call Structure

Block Schedule: 7-Day Continuous Block (Monday 8:00 AM – Monday 8:00 AM).
Coverage Detail: Inpatient rounding + 24/7 emergency & phone coverage during your designated week.
Cadence: 1 week every month (Ongoing).

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide high-level inpatient cardiology consults across the Pediatric ER, PICU, NICU, and Pediatric Floors.
Round on all pediatric cardiology inpatients and provide thorough team sign-outs.
Interpret in-house electrocardiograms (EKGs) and echocardiograms.
Collaborate with the Pediatric Cardiology Medical Director on complex cases, potential hospital transfers, and ECMO candidates.

Candidate Requirements

Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) in Pediatric Cardiology required.
Licensure: Active New Jersey State Medical License & Active DEA.
Clinical Expertise: Proven experience in managing critically ill pediatric cardiology patients across NICU/PICU settings and reading pediatric echocardiograms.
