Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organized Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead all culinary operations at our private country club. This position is responsible for overseeing kitchen staff, menu development, food quality, inventory management, cost controls, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and member satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, excellent culinary skills, and experience managing high-volume food service operations, including à la carte dining, banquets, weddings, tournaments, and special events.

Key Responsibilities Culinary Leadership:

Develop and execute seasonal menus for dining rooms, lounges, pool service, and special events.
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Create daily specials and innovative menu offerings that enhance the member experience.
Maintain high culinary standards while accommodating dietary restrictions and special requests.

Kitchen Operations:

Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and service.
Manage scheduling and staffing levels to meet operational needs.
Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff.
Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Inventory & Cost Management:

Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
Monitor food and labor costs to meet budget goals.
Minimize waste and maximize operational efficiency.
Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records.

Food Safety & Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
Lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products.

Event & Banquet Execution:

Plan and execute menus for weddings, member events, golf tournaments, holiday celebrations, and private functions.
Coordinate with club management and event staff to ensure successful event execution.
Maintain consistency and quality across all food service venues.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar leadership role.
Experience in country clubs, private clubs, resorts, hotels, or upscale restaurants preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, menu development, and food cost control.
Proven leadership and staff management experience.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
