Expeditor – Claudine | Providence, RI

Claudine, a chef-driven fine dining restaurant in Providence, is seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Expeditor to join our dining room team.

Claudine is a tasting-menu-only restaurant focused on thoughtful, highly technical cuisine, exceptional hospitality, and a wine program centered around predominantly French wines. Our service is intentional, precise, and deeply collaborative, and we are looking for a professional who understands that the expeditor plays a critical role in bringing the vision of the kitchen and dining room together.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a high-level service environment and takes pride in precision, communication, and consistency.

Expeditor Position

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine dining and a sophisticated understanding of the relationship between kitchen execution and dining room service. They will be confident managing the flow of a multi-course tasting menu while maintaining an unwavering standard for quality and presentation.

What You’ll Do:

Act as the primary point of communication between the kitchen and dining room throughout service
Oversee the pass and ensure that each course is executed and presented to the restaurant’s standards before leaving the kitchen
Coordinate the timing and pacing of courses in conjunction with the Chef and dining room leadership
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the progression of the tasting menu and anticipate the needs of the service team
Communicate modifications, allergies, and special considerations with accuracy and urgency
Identify and resolve potential issues before they impact the guest experience
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pass throughout service
Assist with running food and supporting the dining room team as needed
Contribute to a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position.

Applicants must be able to:

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Work on their feet for extended periods
Navigate stairs between two floors throughout service
