Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with expertise in managing accounts receivable processes, client communication, and financial software systems. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of our revenue cycle management while ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with accounting standards. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, proficiency in various accounting systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: DeKalb County, TN

About the Company

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its Accounting team. This position supports billing, cash application, collections, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum 3 years of Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or related finance experience.

· Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

· Strong understanding of AR processes, reconciliations, collections, and cash applications.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· ERP/accounting software experience.

· Excellent organization, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

· Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule.

· Apply customer payments (ACH, wire, checks, lockbox).

· Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.

· Research and resolve payment discrepancies, chargebacks, short pays, and unapplied cash.

· Reconcile customer accounts and maintain AR aging.

· Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing issues.

· Prepare AR journal entries and account reconciliations.

· Assist with month-end close and reconcile AR subledger to the General Ledger.

· Support audits and process intercompany transactions.

· Prepare annual 1099 reporting as applicable.

· Maintain organized AR documentation.

· Support inventory activities and provide backup within Accounting.

· Use ERP systems and Microsoft Office to process transactions.

Preferred Experience

· Manufacturing accounting experience.

· Month-end close support.

· General Ledger reconciliations.

· Audit support.

· Customer account management.

· Intercompany accounting transactions.

· Experience with Stravis and CMS, and Oracle preferred

· Ability to navigate two flights of stairs.
