Education and Experience:
1. Associates degree in Horticulture, Forestry, Arboriculture or related field from an accredited college or university.
2. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
3. Five (5) years full-time experience in turf, herbaceous plant care, snow removal, tree care, foundation plantings, knowledge of maintaining sports fields in commercial, industrial or institutional setting or an equivalent combination.
4. Training in Landscape design related computer software desired.
Licenses and Certifications:
1. Must possess and maintain a valid WI Driver’s License along with a good driving record. A good driving record is defined as zero moving violations (points) within the past 12 months.
2. Must maintain availability of a properly insured personal vehicle always.
3. Wisconsin Pesticide Applicator License within 6 months of employment.
4. Fire Extinguisher Certification within 6 months of employment.
5. Six Sigma White Belt certification within six months of employment.
6. Blood Borne Pathogen and other RUSD required safety training (lead, asbestos, ALICE, etc.) within 12 months of employment.
7. RUSD supervisory certification within 12 months of employment.

Work Environment:
1. Busy work environment with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions. Work includes a commitment to irregular working hours, when needed.
2. Position requires the availability for flexible shifts and additional hours as necessary and ability to be on call 24-hours a day, seven days a week when needed for district emergencies.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; sitting for extended periods of time; walking; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; intermittent bending, stooping or reaching overhead to retrieve or store materials; driving a vehicle to conduct business activities.
4. Primarily an outdoor work environment, frequent travel between district sites is required with occasional out of town travel, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and construction equipment.

Physical Demands:
