Head Chef – Habibi Kabob

Habibi Kabob is a fast-paced, family-owned Persian/Mediterranean restaurant committed to serving fresh, high-quality food with exceptional customer service. We take pride in preparing authentic kabobs, fresh ingredients, and flavorful meals made to order. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking head chef to join our team and help maintain the quality our customers expect.

Position Summary

As a head chef at Habibi Kabob, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of grilled meats, rice, and other menu items while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is passionate about cooking, works well under pressure, and takes pride in consistency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare rice and grill chicken, beef, lamb, shrimp, and other proteins according to Habibi Kabob recipes and standards.
Ensure every order is cooked accurately, consistently, and presented with high quality.
Monitor grill temperatures, cooking times, and food safety procedures.
Marinate, season, and prepare meats and vegetables for daily service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary grill station throughout each shift.
Restock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house employees to ensure timely order completion.
Assist with food preparation, inventory rotation (FIFO), and closing/opening duties.
Minimize food waste while maintaining portion control and quality standards.
Work efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner rushes while maintaining accuracy.
Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a grill cook, line cook, or restaurant kitchen staff preferred.
Experience with Middle Eastern or Persian cuisine.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
