Full Job Description

Injection Molding Operator/Technician

Reports To: Process Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Operator/Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for operating injection molding machines, performing machine setups and changeovers, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring products meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with injection molding equipment, auxiliary systems, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to support daily production requirements.

· Perform machine startups, shutdowns, setups, and changeovers according to production schedules.

· Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

· Make approved process adjustments to maintain product quality and cycle time requirements.

· Perform routine preventive maintenance on molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

· Monitor production runs to ensure compliance with established quality standards and work instructions.

· Provide break relief coverage for production personnel as needed.

· Verify that parts meet quality requirements and report non-conforming conditions promptly.

· Maintain awareness of production schedules, priorities, and customer delivery requirements.

· Follow all safety procedures related to equipment operation, raw material handling, and finished goods.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment per company standards

· Work collaboratively with Process Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP requirements, ISO standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Required

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 2–4 years of experience in injection molding, manufacturing, production, or industrial maintenance.

· Working knowledge of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including dryers, loaders, temperature controllers, and chillers.

· Understanding of molding processes, production flow, and quality requirements.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to read and interpret work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.

· Experience using hand tools, measurement instruments, and diagnostic equipment.

· Good written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.

· Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation as needed.

Qualifications - Preferred

· Experience in medical device, regulated, or GMP manufacturing environments.

· Knowledge of ISO quality systems and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

· Experience performing preventive maintenance on injection molding equipment.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand for extended periods, typically 3–4 hours at a time.

· Frequently walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions.

· Regularly lift and move up to 35 pounds.

· Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

· Possess fine motor skills necessary to operate tools and handle small components.

· Ability to meet vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
