Stillroot Therapy Group — Redding, CA Part-Time with Opportunity to Grow

50–70/hour, based on licensure and experience. W-2 Position | In-Person with Hybrid Flexibility

Stillroot Therapy Group is a growing private psychotherapy practice in Redding, California, seeking an Associate or independently Licensed Therapist to join our practice.

We are building a small, clinically strong group practice centered around relationship, attachment, nervous-system regulation, trauma-informed care, and developmentally responsive treatment. We are especially interested in clinicians who want to continue developing their clinical skills while having meaningful autonomy in their work.

This is a good fit for a therapist who wants the benefits of private practice without having to build a practice entirely on their own.

The Position

The clinician will provide outpatient psychotherapy to clients in our Redding office, with some telehealth flexibility as clinically appropriate.

The position can begin part-time and grow based on clinician availability, referral demand, and mutual fit. We have particular demand for clinicians comfortable working with children, adolescents, families, and/or adults with trauma and relational concerns.

Some late-afternoon or early-evening availability is strongly preferred.

Clinical Approach

Stillroot Therapy Group values treatment that goes beyond symptom management.

Our work is strongly informed by attachment, relational, developmental, trauma-informed, and nervous-system-based perspectives. Depending on the clinician and client population, treatment may incorporate approaches such as:

Play therapy
Family and dyadic work
EMDR
TF-CBT
CBT and DBT-informed interventions
Somatic and regulation-focused interventions
Attachment-based and relational psychotherapy

Clinicians do not need to be trained in all of these approaches. We are more interested in clinical curiosity, strong relational skills, ethical practice, and willingness to keep developing.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, child, adolescent, family, and/or couples psychotherapy within the clinician's scope and competence
Complete assessments and individualized treatment plans
Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
Coordinate care when clinically appropriate
Participate in clinical consultation and required meetings
Maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries
Follow California BBS requirements and practice policies
Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold an active California credential in one of the following categories:

Associate clinicians

AMFT
APCC
ASW

Licensed clinicians

LMFT
LPCC
LCSW

Applicants should also demonstrate:

Strong interpersonal and clinical judgment
Reliable and timely documentation
Ability to work independently while also using consultation appropriately
Interest in collaborative, relationship-centered clinical practice
Commitment to ethical and culturally responsive care

Especially Welcome

We would particularly like to hear from clinicians with experience or interest in:

Children and adolescents
Play therapy
Parenting and family work
Attachment and relational treatment
Trauma treatment
EMDR
Neurodivergent children or adults
First responders or other high-stress professions

Prior private-practice experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation

50–70/hour, depending on licensure, experience, clinical responsibilities, and caseload.

Position is W-2.

Specific compensation structure and schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

We believe effective therapy often begins with safety, regulation, relationship, and understanding what a behavior or symptom is trying to accomplish before asking someone to change it.
