Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the following critical tasks independently with direction from the Team Lead and Senior Information Architects on low to high complexity work efforts:

Provide business-focused information architecture and modeling support for customers, through creation of data objects/models and information analysis artifacts reflecting business information needs and enterprise representation of data concepts.
Elicit input and revisions from subject matter experts and stakeholders for the validation of data objects/models and metadata.
Leverage and enhance existing data object/model content.
Analyze and enhance business process models with identification of relevant data concepts and other revisions as a contributor to the business architecture.
Develop analysis of traceability of information architecture to other architecture content and business requirements.
Contribute to development and implementation of methodology improvements, including updates to information architecture guidelines and principles.
Compare current state information models/requirements to future state models, identifying and documenting data integration requirements between applications/systems and potential gaps in functionality.
Provide process modeling support to customers when necessary to meet overall work demands.
Work closely with other information architects, process architects, business owners and subject matter experts, and IT architecture and development teams, as needed.
Serve as team representative at designated meetings and respond to questions/tasks related to information architecture.
Assist with internal information architecture team related projects/tasks and provide regular status reporting on ongoing work efforts.
Assist with development of proposed solutions that solve/alleviate client problems.
Act as mentor/trainer for other company or client modelers/architects regarding information architecture content or operations, as needed.

Requirements:

3+ years of relevant experience producing comprehensive data/information documentation, including composing information models, modeling guides, well-formed data dictionaries, and cross-document integration.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
Additional data management experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Modeling & Design, Data Integration & Interoperability, Data Quality, Reference and Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Security, Data Storage & Operations, or Data Analytics & Business Intelligence.
Possess strong business analysis skills to analyze standard operating procedures and other related documentation and identify data inputs and outputs in the business processes.
Demonstrated ability to effectively elicit input/feedback from subject matter experts and document their requirements completely and accurately in information architecture work products, as well as depicting traceability from business requirements to data objects within business process models to specific data elements within the information models.
Direct customer engagement experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with cross-functional teams comprised of business subject matter experts, other modelers/architects, business data owners/stewards, business requirements analysts, and technical product development staff.
Detail-oriented with excellent written communication skills to assist in collecting and documenting information models and related content to ensure final product meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Flexible, patient, and adaptable to quickly changing priorities; always maintaining professionalism.
Willing to assist other team members, as needed, by sharing experience/knowledge to improve the overall quality of the business information architecture team.
Willing to travel within the US to attend working sessions and team meetings, as needed.

Additional Desired Skills:

Healthcare background and/or Veterans Affairs experience is preferred.
Experience working on government contracts/projects (specifically with VA or DoD) a plus.
Certification in or knowledge of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF, FEAF, Zachman) a plus.
Data Management certification or demonstrated understanding of data management principles a plus.
Experience using Microsoft Visio for process modeling, especially leveraging Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) 2.0 industry modeling standards a plus.
Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI or equivalent a plus.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or relational databases a plus.
Willingness to learn new skills and tools.
Creative problem-solving skills.
