About us

Solomon Admissions Consulting, a leading national college admissions consulting firm, provides personalized college, graduate school, medical school, and private school admission consulting exclusively from Former Admissions Officers. Solomon Admissions consultants work with college applicants to craft memorable narratives and personal statements that best address their unique backgrounds, interests, and how they will contribute to the college to which they apply. They advise on how to best position the college application so as to match it with what each college desires to see in its students. Most importantly, Solomon Admissions consultants ensure that student essays, teacher recommendation letters, activity sheets, addendums, and interviews all support this positioning strategy.

We are looking for an administrator to help organize and coordinate administration duties and payroll procedures. Your role is to create and maintain a pleasant work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication and assist with payroll. Administrator duties and responsibilities include providing general administrative support to our employees, overseeing the movement of essays between consultants and editors, directing the assignment of clients to consultants, and assisting in payroll processing. Previous experience as a business office administrator is mandatory. A successful administrator should have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and payroll systems) and be able to accurately handle administrative duties. Ultimately, the administrator should be able to assist with the smooth running of the office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation.

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Administration with administrative duties including: emailing, projects and projects
Schedule meetings and appointments
Help to maintain office policies as necessary
Organize office operations and procedures
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires
Assist with payroll procedures
Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Monitor the use of vacation and holiday hours to ensure compliance with company policy.
Reconcile payroll to ensure the accuracy of information.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

Previous experience as a business office administrator
Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures
Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing and payroll taxes
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
Previous experience with payroll systems (ADP-Run preferred)
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
