Director of Sales

Contract Manufacturing | Plastics Manufacturing

A growing contract manufacturer is seeking a Director of Sales to lead its commercial organization. This position is responsible for developing the sales strategy, building a sales pipeline, expanding customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and leading the sales organization.

The company provides plastics contract manufacturing solutions for commercial and industrial markets, supported by engineering, manufacturing, assembly, packaging, warehousing, and distribution capabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the sales strategy to achieve revenue, growth, and profitability objectives.
Build and manage the sales pipeline, including forecasting, CRM discipline, sales KPIs, and performance reporting.
Identify new markets, customers, and applications while developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships.
Prepare proposals, develop pricing strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, and manage contract manufacturing opportunities.
Recruit, develop, and lead the sales team while managing independent manufacturers' representative organizations and territory performance.
Partner with Engineering, Estimating, Operations, and Customer Service to support quotations, product launches, customer requirements, and ongoing account management.
Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support quoting and program feasibility.
Represent the customer throughout the development and production process to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; MBA or equivalent leadership experience is a plus.
Minimum of five years of sales leadership experience within industrial or manufacturing environments.
Experience selling contract manufacturing services within blow molding, plastics manufacturing, injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, or related manufacturing processes preferred.
Demonstrated success developing sales strategies, generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and identifying new market opportunities.
Experience implementing sales KPIs, CRM processes, pipeline management, forecasting, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
Experience leading sales teams and managing independent manufacturers' representative organizations.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation while working effectively with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Customer Service.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and business acumen.
Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
