Full Job Description

Job Overview
Smith Storage Systems is seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Representative to grow our commercial customer base throughout Northern Nevada and surrounding markets.

This is an opportunity for a high-performing closer who can build relationships, identify operational needs, and turn complex warehouse and material-handling requirements into practical, profitable solutions.

Smith Storage Systems provides customers with turnkey support—from equipment selection and facility design through installation, service, maintenance, and safety support.

About the role

You will sell a broad range of warehouse, storage, forklift, and material-handling solutions to commercial and industrial customers.

This is a consultative B2B sales position for someone comfortable working with operations managers, warehouse leaders, contractors, facility managers, and business owners.

Our offerings include:

Pallet racking, shelving, mezzanines, conveyors, and warehouse-layout solutions
Forklift sales, rentals, service, planned maintenance, and emergency repairs
Loading dock equipment, dock doors, balers, compactors, scales, and related equipment
Installation, repairs, preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and forklift-certification training.

Duties

Prospect for and develop new B2B sales opportunities in industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, construction, and commercial accounts.
Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, site visits, discovery, estimating, proposal presentation, negotiation, closing, and post-sale follow-up.
Meet with customers at their facilities to understand workflows, equipment needs, safety concerns, space constraints, and operational goals.
Sell both project-based solutions and recurring service, maintenance, rental, and equipment opportunities.
Develop strong long-term customer relationships and generate repeat business and referrals.
Coordinate with internal operations, service, installation, and management teams to deliver accurate, timely, customer-focused solutions.
Maintain organized sales activity, opportunity notes, follow-ups, pipeline status, and forecasts in the company CRM.
Consistently meet or exceed sales, gross-profit, and activity targets.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for either an established outside-sales professional or an exceptional closer with a documented history of winning business.

Required qualifications

Proven B2B sales experience with a strong record of closing business.
Demonstrated ability to prospect, build a pipeline, overcome objections, negotiate, and close.
Confidence selling higher-value products, services, or project-based solutions.
Strong communication, presentation, organization, and follow-up skills.
Self-motivated, accountable, and comfortable managing a territory with independence.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for customer meetings, site visits, and business development.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in material handling, forklifts, warehouse equipment, industrial sales, construction, logistics, facilities, or related fields.
Existing relationships with Northern Nevada businesses, contractors, warehouses, manufacturers, distributors, or facility managers.
Experience selling service agreements, capital equipment, rentals, or technical solutions.
Ability to read basic site layouts, understand warehouse operations, or work with equipment specifications.

Competitive base pay of $55K to $65K+ with added commission structure.
Performance-based earning potential with no ceiling for the right producer.
