Full Job Description

Medical Assistant – Scribing & Clinical Procedures

Location: Reno, NV
Pay: $20–$23/hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (No evenings or weekends)
Employment Type: Full-time, In-Person

About the Position

Gerber Medical Clinic is a well-established integrative medical practice in Reno seeking a dependable Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical support to Dr. Gerber. This position combines medical scribing with hands-on patient care and offers the opportunity to learn advanced clinical skills, including IV therapy.

If you're organized, enjoy working directly with patients, and want to expand your clinical experience, we'd love to meet you.

Responsibilities

Scribe patient visits by documenting the physician's findings and treatment plans during and after appointments.
Review treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions with patients.
Process medication and laboratory orders as directed by the physician.
Perform blood draws and administer injections.
Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments.
Answer phones and assist with front office tasks as needed.
Train to place IV lines and assist with infusion therapy under physician supervision.
Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

Training & Development

We provide in-house training for:

Medical scribing
Clinic workflow
Blood draws
Injections
IV placement and infusion procedures

All clinical skills are taught gradually, with direct supervision until competency has been demonstrated.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates are:

Dependable, professional, and compassionate
Calm under pressure and able to multitask
Strong communicators with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable following physician direction precisely
Able to listen, document accurately, and keep pace during patient visits
Willing to ask questions and continue learning

Preferred Experience

We welcome applicants with experience or training as a:

Medical Assistant (Certified or experienced)
EMT
Medical Assistant student or graduate

Spanish-speaking applicants are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates may qualify for additional hourly compensation.
