At VDS, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and project leaders on real-world electrical design projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and other markets.

What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer, you'll support our engineering and project teams in designing and delivering electrical systems.
Your responsibilities will grow as you demonstrate your ability.
You'll initially work under the direction of senior engineers and project managers, with opportunities to take increasing ownership of projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with electrical engineering and design for commercial and industrial projects
- Develop electrical drawings and documentation using Revit
- Assist with power distribution, lighting, controls, and electrical system design
- Perform basic electrical calculations and engineering analysis
- Assist with equipment selection and electrical schedules
- Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness
- Participate in project coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
- Assist with electrical studies and analysis
- Learn and apply applicable electrical codes and standards
- Support project managers and senior engineers in delivering projects
- Identify problems and help develop solutions
- Communicate clearly with clients and team members
- Take ownership of assigned work and see it through to completion
- Continuously improve our engineering processes, standards, and technology
What We're Looking ForYou have the technical foundation.
You don't need to know everything.
We expect you to be learning.
You should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Passed the FE Exam and be eligible for EIT certification
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Familiarity with electrical distribution systems
- Basic understanding of the National Electrical Code
- Experience with Revit or a strong willingness and ability to learn it quickly
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help
- Strong attention to detail
- A desire to eventually obtain your Professional Engineer (PE) license
Previous internship, co-op, or engineering experience is a plus—but we're much more interested in your potential and your character than a long résumé.

This position will initially be remote while you get started with VDS.
Our long-term plan is to build our headquarters and engineering team in Reno, Nevada, and we expect this role to transition to Reno.
