Asphalt Protectors, Inc, is looking for an experienced CDL Truck Driver. A CDL Truck Driver with Equipment is responsible for transporting goods and operating specialized equipment. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and prior experience with equipment operation. Commitment to safety and efficiency on the road are essential factors in our work
A minimum of three years of experience in Truck Driving a 10-Wheel Dump Truck and hauling equipment is preferred. A CDL Truck Driver should have patience, organization, and good communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand all aspects of asphalt paving operations
- Loading, unloading, and transporting heavy machinery and products
- Operate a commercial vehicle to transport goods safely and efficiently.
- Equipment Operation: Handle and operate specialized equipment, such as Paver, roller, or trailers.
- Route Planning: Plan and follow routes using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and balanced.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, work/rest periods, and miles driven.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on both the vehicle and equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members.
- Incident Reporting: Report any road incidents, accidents, or equipment issues to a dispatcher.
- Assist the Lead Supervisor with material purchases, renting equipment, handling timekeeping, and managing NDOT paper trail requirements
- Support team development and growth, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable
- Keep truck clean and always organized
Qualifications
- Truck Driving experience required, minimum three years. Class A Tanker endorsement preferred.
- Previous experience as a CDL truck driver and handling equipment is preferred
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating and maintaining commercial vehicles and specialized equipment.
- T – Doubles-Triples endorsement
- License with tanker endorsement – preferred
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accurate documentation and precise cargo handling.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable and consistent in attendance and performance.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address issues and find solutions on the job.
- Previous experience as a CDL truck driver and handling equipment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment and maintenance, hydraulics, and hydrostatics
- Understand NDOT and documentation requirements
- Knowledge and use of all safety devices and general safe work practices
- Good organizational/planning skills, proactive, has a sense of urgency
