SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER (SPM)

Dual Kennewick & Pendleton Locations

About the Role

Wenaha Group is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to support our Kennewick, Washington and Pendleton, Oregon teams. The SPM will lead large, complex construction projects and programs on behalf of owners. This role serves as a trusted day-to-day project leader, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, internal team members, and community stakeholders to deliver high-quality owner representation from planning through closeout.

The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, contracts, procurement support, stakeholder communication, project documentation, and team coordination. This position also supports client relationships, mentors project staff, and helps strengthen Wenaha Group’s reputation for thoughtful, professional, client-centered service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead large, complex construction projects or programs with a high degree of independence.
Coordinate owners, consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and internal project teams.
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, contracts, documentation, procurement support, and reporting.
Identify risks, resolve issues proactively, and elevate matters when executive input is needed.
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships through clear communication and sound judgment.
Represent Wenaha Group professionally with clients, public agencies, tribal leadership, community stakeholders, design professionals, contractors, and industry partners.
Support public outreach, project communication, and stakeholder coordination efforts.
Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and other project team members.
Support business development and client retention through excellent project delivery and relationship management.
Contribute to proposals, interviews, presentations, and pursuit efforts when requested.
Promote consistent project delivery through strong documentation, collaboration, and use of project management best practices.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will bring strong construction project management experience, sound judgment, and the ability to lead complex owner-representative work with professionalism and confidence. This role requires someone who can manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and support both project success and team development.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

Experience managing complex capital construction projects or programs.
Strong client relationship, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, contracts, change impacts, and financial reporting.
Knowledge of procurement processes, public-sector project requirements, and construction delivery methods.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate work across owners, consultants, contractors, and internal staff.
Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation, follow-through, and project continuity.
Ability to mentor and support developing project staff.
Proficiency with Bluebeam and other project management tools.
Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, equity, inclusion, and client-centered service.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or a related field; trade experience in the construction field may also be considered.
Equivalent combinations of education and progressively responsible relevant experience may be considered.
Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible construction project management or owner’s representative experience.
Demonstrated success managing large, complex capital projects or programs with significant client and stakeholder interaction.
Experience negotiating contracts, managing complex budgets, supporting procurement, and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience mentoring project staff and supporting long-term client relationships.

Salary Range

$125,000–$165,000, depending on contribution, experience, and geographic location.

The Senior Construction Project Manager may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation tied to project leadership, client satisfaction, staff development, business development support, and other contributions, as determined by Ownership.
