Full Job Description

Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Site Coordinator, the Team Leader plays a key role in supporting student success in our after-school program. This position focuses on providing academic support, leading engaging enrichment and recreational activities, and creating a positive, inclusive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and physically.

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead engaging daily lesson plans and activities
Facilitate structured academic, enrichment, and recreational programs
Support students in developing and strengthening academic, physical, and social skills
Adapt and differentiate activities to meet the needs of diverse learners
Collaborate with the Site Coordinator, Student Learning Coach, and school-day teachers to ensure program success
Monitor and evaluate activities to ensure effectiveness and student engagement
Promote a safe environment by guiding proper use of materials and equipment
Maintain positive classroom management and implement appropriate discipline strategies
Build and maintain professional relationships with students, families, and school staff
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events
Follow all district and organizational policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
Valid photo ID required
Completion of at least 48 college units or successful passage of the District NCLB exam
Fingerprint clearance, TB clearance, and ability to complete random drug testing
Previous experience working with youth (school, childcare, or community-based setting) preferred
Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, and staff
Strong ability to create and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
Bilingual skills are a plus
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

Schedule

Morning Shift: 6:30 AM – 9:30 AM (approximate)
Afternoon Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM (schedules vary by district)
Hours per Week: 20–29
Work Location: In-person
