Full Job Description

Take part in a rewarding school-based position tailored for compassionate registered nurses who are ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of students. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity enables you to work closely with students who require individualized, attentive care throughout the school day.

In this role, you will provide 1:1 nursing support for either a 3-year-old student who is ventilator dependent or an 18-year-old student with tracheostomy needs. Your expertise and commitment will have a direct impact in helping students access their education safely and comfortably.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
Previous experience with pediatric trach or vent cases highly preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
Adaptable, with the ability to respond calmly and expertly to evolving health needs
Effective communicator with students, families, and school staff
CPR/BLS certification

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct 1:1 care, monitoring student health status and responding to complex medical needs during the school day
Perform tracheostomy care and ventilator management including suctioning and emergency procedures as necessary
Interface with educators, therapists, and families to coordinate comprehensive support plans
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines
Participate in relevant professional development and collaborate with the broader school health team
