Full Job Description

Position Overview:
We are IDEALLY looking for an experienced (minimum of one year) and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our team of precision metal fabricators. This role involves setting up and operating press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal according to drawings, ensuring precise measurements with a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards. The operator will be responsible for proper material alignment, tooling selection (making the changes as necessary), and process adjustments while monitoring the bending process.

Essential Functions:

Perform setups on the Press Brake utilizing part drawings and bend simulations (tolerances).
Conduct inspections using precision measuring and gauging equipment.
Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum, and steel).
Ensure machines are calibrated and cleaned regularly.
Read and interpret shop drawings, submittals, and fabrication plans.
Perform spot inspections of parts in maintaining accurate part specifications and quality standards.
Execute forming operations using standard and custom tooling.
Work within customer tolerances to meet specifications.
Perform general maintenance on press brakes as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Requirements:

1-3+ years of experience with the layout and operation of a Press Brake, preferably in a custom metal fabrication shop.
Proven programming experience is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop/fabrication drawings.
Preferred expertise in layout and programming of a Press Brake to fabricate precision parts with a tolerance of +/- .060.
Energetic, dependable, and capable of working at a fast pace.
Steel-toe boots and successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen are mandatory.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Job Type: This is a full-time position, Monday-Thursday, 5:00 am - 3:30 pm and Friday, 5:00 am - 11:00 am.

Work Environment: This job operates inside a metal fabrication warehouse environment. Steel toe boots are required (all other PPE will be provided). While in the warehouse, loud sounds and noise exist due to operating machines along with the odor of welding and grinding of metal materials.

Physical Demands: Standing for long periods of time, full use of hands to handle, control, and feel/move objects, tools, or controls, lifting large metal products, and bending. Must be able to lift large sheets of metal and other metal products (up to 60 lbs.)
