Full Job Description

Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Mokena, IL

Pay Rate: $36/HR.

Schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Friday

This position is temporary with an opportunity to be hired full-time.

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Part-Time Bookkeeper for our client to start at $36/hr. Receive comprehensive benefits through ITS upon hire!

Responsibilities:

Transaction Recording: Accurately log all daily income, expenses, and purchases into the company's accounting software.

Bank Reconciliation: Compare internal financial records against bank and credit card statements to catch errors, discrepancies, or fraud.

Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor bills, track payment due dates, and prepare outgoing payments.

Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and send out tenant/client invoices and follow up on outstanding or overdue payments.

Financial Reporting: Generate essential reports—such as Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets—to provide business owners or accountants with a clear picture of the company's financial health.

Miscellaneous – must assist in answering the phone, dealing with tenants opening work orders and other office duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Software Proficiency: Strong familiarity with bookkeeping programs Propertyware is a must have, QuickBooks, or Sage, alongside Microsoft Excel.

Numerical & Analytical Skills: Excellent math skills and high attention to detail to identify discrepancies and balance the books accurately.

Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, accrual vs. cash accounting, and basic tax regulations.

Organizational Time Management: Ability to manage multiple client accounts or daily financial tasks while strictly adhering to deadlines.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education: A High School diploma is typically required. An associate’s degree or certification in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in bookkeeping that requires transaction logging and account reconciliation.

Experience in Real Estate Partnerships, Condominium Associations, and Maintenance a plus.

IL Paid Leave for All Workers

An employee that works in Illinois is entitled to accrue and use up to 40 hours of paid leave during a 12 month period or a pro rata number of hours of paid leave under the provisions of the State of Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act. The 12 month accrual period is considered to begin for new employees on the employees first day of employment. An employee is entitled to begin using earned and accrued paid leave time 90 calendar days after commencement of employment. Paid leave under this Act shall accrue at the rate of one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours of paid leave

401(k) with company match for eligible employees.

Eligibility: Active employees with one year of work and during that one year has completed 1,000 hours of service and is at least 21 years of age. Entry dates into the 401(k) are: 1/1 or 7/1 following the one year of service and completing 1,000 hours of work.

The company will match 100% of the first 3% of the employee contribution. As well as, match 50% of the next 2% of the employee contribution. (The company contribution/match maximum is 4%)
