Full Job Description

Job Summary

Valex is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the 3rd shift in manufacturing operations with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure adherence to quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will inspire teams to operate efficiently within manufacturing management systems, utilizing tools like ERP systems to optimize production planning and scheduling. By fostering a culture of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, you will enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and elevate overall plant performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape manufacturing excellence through strategic oversight and team leadership.

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the following:

Unreserved commitment and enforcement of Valex Safety policies and practices to ensure safe working environment
Support and execute all policies, agreements, procedures, guidelines, and goals set forth by Valex Corp.
Responsible for supervising all production related internal departments for the Round Rock, TX site
Effectively plan, schedule, allocate, and efficiently utilize resource (labor, equipment, etc)
Supervise and execute day-to-day shop-based manufacturing activities. (Safe work Environment, Zero Defects, On Time Delivery to Commit, Support Manufacturing Resource Assessments) using KPI (Key Performance Indicators)
Implement and, in some cases, create manufacturing/process work bench instructions (WBI)
Implement various continuous improvement (CIO, Kaizen, 5S) activities in collaboration with various stakeholders
Develop/maintain the training program (certified operator program)
Part of the decision-making process for the evaluation and hiring of new production personnel.
Responsible for following and promoting organizational process including reporting employee disciplinary actions.

Experience

Proven experience in manufacturing management or operations management within a production environment.
Strong knowledge of production management systems such as SAP, ERP systems, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma certifications preferred.
Experience in production scheduling, supply chain management, and plant management practices.
Skilled in data analysis using Microsoft Excel for tracking performance metrics and identifying efficiencies.
Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with quality control processes, assembly operations, and continuous improvement strategies in a manufacturing setting.
