Job Description

Staff Accountant – Accounts Receivable and Collections

Accounts Receivable Operations

· New customer onboarding.

· Reviews customer accounts receivable aging daily.

· Pursues past due balances in accordance with company credit policy.

· Maintains accurate records of communication with customers.

· Supports company credit performance goals.

· Safeguards company’s credit exposure.

· Research customer credit risk ratings (i.e., Dun & Bradstreet)

· Sets up new customers in the system.

· Sends out customer invoices (email).

· Manage checks sent by customers to make sure they are deposited to bank. account and posted in SAP on time.

· Weekly cash flow management.

Risk Management

· Risk Mitigation Planning – developing strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks.

· Weekly credit exposure review.

Finance

· Supports month-end report preparation.

· Involves/initiates in SAP finance projects.

Required Skills/Abilities

· Strong understanding of financial statements (I/S, B/S, T/B, cash flow).

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in bookkeeping software to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes.

· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.

· Proficient/advanced knowledge of SAP and Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUP’s formulas).

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Professional internal and external communications.

· Problem solving aptitude.

· Team player willing to step in and help others.

Education/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or equivalent experience.

· 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in public accounting, corporate or private business.

· Highly proficient in GL functions.

· 2-3 years SAP experience (S4/Hanna) highly preferred.

· Thorough understanding of US GAAP.

Physical Requirement

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time.

· Must be able to travel as needed to corporate offices, customer plants, and third-party warehouses.
