Job Summary
We are looking for a caring and thoughtful Clinical Therapist to join our supportive team. In this role, you will provide compassionate, person-centered therapy within recovery-focused programs, including services connected to CSTAR expectations and CARF-aligned standards of care. You will walk alongside individuals as they work toward healing, growth, stability, and greater well-being.

The Clinical Therapist plays an important role in helping people feel seen, heard, and supported. Through ethical clinical care, respectful collaboration, trauma-informed support, and consistent documentation, this role helps ensure LIV’s services remain person-centered, compliant, and aligned with CSTAR requirements, CARF standards, and our commitment to dignity, accountability, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention therapy in a supportive, person-centered manner
Complete clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment plans with respect for each person’s strengths, goals, culture, preferences, and lived experience
Use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, grief counseling, substance use counseling, and other appropriate clinical practices
Support people as they build coping skills, strengthen resilience, and work toward self-determined recovery goals
Provide services and maintain documentation in alignment with CSTAR program expectations, CARF standards, HIPAA requirements, and applicable clinical record standards
Collaborate with team members, community partners, and natural supports to help coordinate care and support continuity across services
Provide services through in-person and/or telehealth formats while maintaining privacy, professionalism, and accessibility
Participate in team collaboration, quality improvement, compliance activities, and ongoing efforts to strengthen ethical, person-centered care.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution
Current licensure or certification as an LCSW, LPC, or equivalent clinical credential preferred; provisionally licensed individuals are encouraged to apply
Experience providing clinical counseling in outpatient, inpatient, residential, substance use, or recovery-focused settings preferred
Knowledge of behavioral health interventions, crisis support, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and ICD coding
Familiarity with CSTAR services, CARF standards, quality improvement, compliance, or accreditation processes preferred
Experience supporting people with mental health, substance use, trauma, grief, disability, or other life challenges in a respectful and strengths-based way
Comfort using telehealth platforms and maintaining accurate electronic documentation
Strong communication skills and a warm, collaborative approach that helps people feel respected, heard, and supported
