Job Type: 6-Month Contract (Full-Time)
Location: San Antonio, TX 78213 (In-Person)
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST (Supporting EST hours)

Job Summary
The Mortgage Full Appraisal Review Specialist performs comprehensive reviews of residential property appraisal reports across all mortgage products, ensuring valuation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and collateral risk mitigation. The role supports underwriting and credit teams through expert analysis and clear documentation.

Duties

Comprehensive Reviews: Perform full appraisal reviews for Conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo loans.
Risk Mitigation: Identify "red flags" for valuation risk, misrepresentation, or habitability deficiencies.
Technical Analysis: Validate comparable sales, market adjustments, photos, and maps using tools like CU, LCA, AVMs, and Encompass.
Compliance: Ensure every report meets USPAP, GSE guidelines, FHA 4000.1, and VA Handbook standards.
Collaboration: Work directly with underwriting and QC teams to document findings and recommend reconsiderations of value.

Required Skills

Experience: 3+ years of experience in Mortgage Appraisal Review or Collateral Underwriting (5 years preferred).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of USPAP, GSE guidelines, and FHA/VA overlays.
Software Skills: Proficiency with Mortgage LOS platforms (Encompass) and valuation tools (CU, LCA).
Communication: Ability to document complex valuation issues clearly for stakeholders.
