OVERVIEW

Join our dynamic team as a Scoop Shop Manager! This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while managing daily store operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role will provide you access to the wonderful world of Ben & Jerry's not only at the local level, but at the worldwide Corporate level. Get online and on-site training, meet other Ben & Jerry's franchises and hopefully learn to be able to run your own business by the end. As a Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service, overseeing team performance, and ensuring smooth store functions. This position is designed to prepare you for future management roles through comprehensive training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. If you're energetic, organized, and passionate about retail and customer service, this is the perfect stepping stone for you to prove your management potential!

The initial role of the Scoop Shop Manager is to assist in managing efficient scoop shop and catering operations at the San Francisco Scoop Shop while showcasing excellent customer service and living the Ben & Jerry’s 3-part mission daily. Their goal is to drive consumer loyalty and staff satisfaction by managing a fun, safe, clean, and high energy environment. The Scoop Shop Manager will report to the current Scoop Shop Manager (Store Manager). The goal is for the successful applicant to become a certified Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop Manager by the end of 2026.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising shop staff, including daily operations, communications and staffing.
Open, run (scoop), and close the store on a daily basis.
Assist the Store Manager in the hiring, training and orientation of staff.
Maintain effective operations and communications for the department, including store & staff appearance, proper cash handling procedures, customer service, cleanliness, compliance with all safety and operating standards, merchandising and production of waffle cones, novelties, and baked goods.
Ensure that all opening and closing procedures are followed and executed.
Assist the current Store Manager with overseeing shop inventory, store sales and inventory levels to ensure proper stock levels.
Report financial progress of the daily operations.
Assist and support with catering operations and events, during peak seasons.
Accountable for maintaining the accuracy of daily cashing in and out of all registers and cashiers, sales to cash reconciliation, and daily sales summary reports for their shift.
Collaborate with the Store Manager in the implementation of the store -marketing plan with an emphasis on marketing the store in the local community through innovative donations, catering, off premise opportunities, and special event programs.
Assist Store Manager to manage the inventory ordering process which includes ordering, receiving, storage, and logging of all inventory items.
Ensure all invoices are checked and discrepancies brought to the Store Manager’s attention.
Participate in store planning and development meetings with Store Manager and Owner, and attend other online company meetings and activities to keep informed about the objectives of the Brand.
Potential opportunities to work on special projects as assigned.
Respond to potential emergencies (Equipment failure, alarms, deliveries) with poise
Actively support company safety goals by ensuring consistent safe work behaviors.

Requirements

Experience in hospitality industry or customer service, with additional experience supervising staff in a retail or food service environment is a plus.
Flexible work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Experience in high volume, fast paced retail environment
Proven ability to lead others through motivation, development, and inspiration
Excellent communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
Strong follow-through, organization, and time management skills
Efficient initiative and a detailed focus on the “big picture”
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and react in emergency situations
Highly professional, patient, energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive “can –do” attitude and a strong commitment to outstanding customer service
Self-motivated, autonomous, proactive, and responsive disposition to anticipate and fulfill customer and staff needs
Love of all things Ice Cream
Passion for San Francisco and it's vibrant history
Belief in Small Businesses and Community Responsibility.
Valid driver’s license is a plus

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
