About the Role
The Data Analytics Specialist will serve as RMI's primary analytics partner for internal business teams.
The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging modern analytics tools—including Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve reporting, automate repetitive tasks, uncover meaningful business insights, and help drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
This role is responsible for gathering reporting requirements, improving data accessibility, developing dashboards, analysing business trends, and helping RMI establish a more consistent and scalable business intelligence environment.
The successful candidate will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other departments to understand business questions before translating those needs into practical reporting solutions.
What You'll Do
- Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders to understand operational needs and business objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau and other business intelligence tools.
- Analyze sales, customer, operational, and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and supporting documentation for leadership and business teams.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, Purchasing, and other departments to provide data-driven recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
- Leverage AI-powered analytics and automation tools to improve reporting efficiency, identify trends, and generate actionable business insights.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend opportunities to enhance business intelligence, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Develop scalable reporting solutions that improve data accessibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes using AI, Tableau, and other business intelligence tools.
- Validate data accuracy and integrity across multiple systems and reporting sources.
- Utilize Tableau, Microsoft Excel, ERP software, and other company systems to extract, analyze, and visualize business data.
- Balance multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Support cross-functional projects and business initiatives through data analysis and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, and proprietary information.
- Participate in required meetings, training, and professional development activities.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a similar role.
- Advanced Tableau experience including:
- Dashboard development
- Calculated fields
- Parameters
- Data modeling
- Data source management
- Experience working with large datasets and business reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience gathering requirements directly from stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting best practices.
- Experience utilizing AI tools to analyze data, automate workflows, improve productivity, or enhance reporting capabilities.
- Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging technologies that improve business processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
- SQL experience.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Spire preferred).
- Manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or B2B industry experience.
- Experience with AI-assisted analytics or reporting automation.
- Experience supporting Sales or Operations analytics.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI platforms in a business environment.
- Experience implementing AI-assisted reporting, automation, predictive analytics, or workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with Power Automate, Power BI AI capabilities, Microsoft Fabric, or similar modern analytics platforms.
