Full Job Description

Job Overview

As a Quality Inspector in a machine shop located in Hayward, CA, you will be responsible for ensuring that the manufactured products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and collaborating with various teams to maintain and improve overall product quality.

As a Quality Inspector you will perform production inspections throughout the production process, use of precision measuring equipment, review paperwork for accuracy, and communicate within department and other departments to produce a final product meeting customer requirement.

Responsibilities

· Maintain company quality records and inspection reports. Includes generating First Article Inspection Reports.

· Inspection of components and assemblies, both in-process and final inspection.

· Patrol the shop floor and provide in-process inspections.

· Using appropriate inspection tools/equipment to check critical dimensions and features per customer requirements.

· Inspecting parts and materials for quality defects using proven techniques and visual methods and providing feedback on day-to-day quality findings.

· Document all findings and report any non-conformances noted.

· Remove and segregate non-conforming parts and materials.

Requirements

5+ Years of experience or College Degree in quality
CMM operating experience is required.
Ability to operate a CMM using CMM Manager and understand/analyze data recorded to complete first article inspection reports.
Strong team player and clear communicator.
Self-starter that can multitask. Ability to work quickly/efficiently in a fast-paced environment is a must.
Time management and organizational skills
Experience in a machine shop environment is a must.
Ability to read and interpret dimensions and tolerances on drawings and prints.
Demonstrate strong mathematical skills.
Use of microscope, hand tool, height gage, calipers, etc...
Mechanical experience for inspecting sheet metal and sub-assemblies.
Computer skill is a must. Operator-Level proficiency using computer software programs.
Must be familiar with and have experience inspecting to ISO9001 standards.
Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems required.
Geometric dimensioning and tolerance knowledge per ASME/ANSI standard essential.
Physical ability to operate machines
Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at times
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching

Qualifications

2 years minimum CMM operating experience with programming ability is required. Ability to operate a CMM and understand/analyze data recorded to complete first article inspection reports.
Strong team player and clear communicator. Self-starter that can multitask.
Ability to work quickly/efficiently in a fast-paced environment is a must.
High-energy, self-motivated with the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
Experience in a machine shop environment is a must.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
