Cost Accounting Assistant / Junior Cost Accountant

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cost Accounting Assistant to support our Cost Accountant in managing day-to-day cost controlling, inventory tracking, and manufacturing data management. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their career in corporate finance and supply chain accounting within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry & Verification: Assist in daily data entry for manufacturing orders, material movements, and labor hours. Verify the accuracy of production logs against ERP system records.
Inventory Control Support: Help reconcile cycle count results and physical inventory audits. Track and investigate minor inventory discrepancies under the guidance of the Cost Accountant.
Invoice & PO Matching: Perform three-way matching (Purchase Order, Receiving Report, and Invoice) for manufacturing-related expenses and raw material purchases.
Reporting Assistance: Assist in preparing weekly/monthly cost analysis reports, scrap logs, and variance spreadsheets using MS Excel.
Administrative Support: Maintain organized digital archiving for cost records, bill of materials (BOM) updates, and audit documentation. Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (open to recent graduates with strong Excel skills).
0–2 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or accounts payable (AP) role, ideally within a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
Proficiency in MS Excel (must be comfortable with VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and basic formulas).
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and effective at cross-functional collaboration. Able to work closely with accounting, warehouse, and production team to ensure efficient operations and accurate coordination.
Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure environment.

Job Type: Temporary to Full Time (through agency)
Pay Rate: $25 - $27/hr
Work Location: temporarily San Jose, CA until move to new facility in Sunnyvale, CA in late 2026 (on-site daily)
