Full Job Description

We are a respected, patient-focused dental specialty practice seeking an experienced Dental Front Office Coordinator/Dental Office Manager to become an important part of our administrative team.

Dental Front Office Coordinator / Patient CoordinatorPay: $28.00–$32.00 per hour (based on experience)Location: Bankers Hill / Downtown, San Diego, CASchedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 8 to 5. Join a practice where exceptional patient care begins at the front desk.

Our patients are often in pain, anxious, and looking for reassurance. The person in this role sets the tone for their entire experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and confident in a busy specialty practice while delivering outstanding customer service.If you enjoy taking ownership, solving problems, working closely with referring dental offices, and helping patients feel genuinely cared for, we'd love to meet you.

Primary Responsibilities; Front Office Leadership. Manage the daily schedule and patient flow from referral through consultation, treatment, and follow-up.

Keep the clinical schedule running efficiently while anticipating and solving scheduling challenges.Deliver a welcoming, professional experience for every patient.Emergency Scheduling & Patient CommunicationAnswer emergency calls with empathy and professionalism.

Gather appropriate clinical information and coordinate urgent appointments.Communicate clearly with patients, referring offices, and our clinical team. Insurance & Financial Coordination. Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage to patients.Obtain pre-authorizations when required.Submit insurance claims promptly and accurately.

Track outstanding claims, manage denials and appeals, and follow through until resolution. Administrative Excellence, Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and insurance information.

Ensure consistency and accuracy within the practice management software.Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.Referral Office RelationsBuild positive relationships with referring dental offices.Coordinate records, radiographs, and communication promptly and professionally.Represent the practice with exceptional customer service.Team SupportHelp maintain efficient front office systems and workflows.Support teammates and contribute to a positive, collaborative office culture.Participate in training and continuous process improvement.QualificationsRequiredMinimum of 2 years of dental front office or patient coordinator experience.
