Shifts Available:

Mon-Friday 3:30pm-12am

Tuesday- Saturday 12am-8am (overnight)

Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-8:00pm

Saturday-Sunday 8:00pm-8:00am

This position requires a person to be at least 21 years of age and have a high school degree or GED equivalence. It is preferred that caregivers have previous experience working in a residential setting or other related job experience including 2 years of work experience with adolescents within the last 10 years.

The basic function of Residential Direct Support Professionals shall provide basic daily care services for the youth, establish and build supportive and nurturing relationships with the youth and shall either provide or arrange all services to meet the youth’s needs.

The direct care position involves caring for foster youth with severe intellectual and developmental delays in a residential treatment center (RTC) setting. The youth we serve are mostly nonverbal. Youth often exhibit severe behaviors related to traumatic experiences. Behaviors can include some aggression, feces play, sensory issues and self-injurious behaviors. Staff are expected to utilize all training that will be provided including Handle with Care (HWC) for behavior modification. We are on 8 acres with farm animals and DSP's will be responsible for youth engagement.

Responsibilities Include:

· Changing diapers for all incontinent youth

· Taking care of youth’s hygiene including bathing & brushing teeth

· Cleaning, cooking, and laundry on specific shifts

· Attending community activities with youth when scheduled

· Maintaining daily progress notes for youth assigned

· Medication administration (will be trained)

· Following the daily schedule as placed by the LCCA

· Completing all daily check lists as it pertains to the home and the care of our youth

Managing the safety of the youth while around the farm animals

Job Type: Full-Time or Part Time
