Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist and Lab Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting clinical laboratory operations and patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your laboratory procedures, techniques, and patient service skills in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples, processing specimens, and assisting with various laboratory tasks to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology will help deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture (blood sampling) using proper technique to collect specimens from patients of all ages.
Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation.
Assist laboratory staff with routine procedures, including specimen processing, equipment calibration, and maintenance.
Monitor vital signs and patient condition during sample collection to ensure comfort and safety.
Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection and handling.
Maintain detailed records of all procedures performed, including patient information and sample details.
Support patient care activities by providing compassionate service, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient concerns professionally.

Qualifications

Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory work.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling methods such as venipuncture.
Certification or training in phlebotomy is highly preferred; relevant hospital or healthcare experience is a plus.
Basic life support (BLS) certification or CPR certification required to ensure patient safety during procedures.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sample integrity.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens; good physical stamina required.
Excellent patient service skills with a caring attitude and clear communication abilities.
