Full Job Description

Job Title: Lead Line Cook
Location: Sarasota, FL 34241
Assignment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (Temporary Assignment)
Assignment Duration: 1–4 Months (Through November)

Compensation & Monthly Bonus

Starting at $2,500+ per month
$1,250 bi-weekly via direct deposit
Opportunity to earn additional income through overtime and extra shifts
$250 Monthly Performance Bonus during your first two months of successful service
1099 Independent Contractor (No taxes withheld)

Work Schedule

Monday–Sunday, based on business needs
Lunch service: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
1–2 hours of kitchen prep before service
1–2 hours of closing duties and kitchen cleanup after service

At Mims Hospitality Services, we work closely with business owners and management companies to deliver experienced interim leadership and reliable frontline staffing, ensuring seamless operations and consistent guest satisfaction.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Cook to join the culinary team at a prestigious Country Club Golf Course. This is a hands-on leadership role for a culinary professional who is passionate about preparing high-quality meals while helping oversee daily kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate has strong cooking skills, is organized, and has experience with menu planning, inventory management, and food ordering in a fast-paced kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality meals for members and guests.
Lead by example and work alongside the kitchen team during service.
Assist with creating and updating seasonal menus and daily specials.
Order food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
Monitor and maintain food inventory and conduct inventory counts.
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards.
Help control food costs and minimize waste.
Train and support kitchen staff as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Lead Cook, Sous Chef, or Senior Line Cook.
Experience in a country club, golf club, resort, hotel, or full-service restaurant preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
Experience with menu development, food ordering, and inventory management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Food Safety Certification is a plus.
Must be reliable, dependable, and available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
