We are looking for an individual to fill a day-shift, CNC Horizontal Machinist position. We are wanting to find a qualified individual who wants to work in an air-conditioned, clean, positive, family-oriented shop. We care about and value the individuals we work with and want to have you as part of our team.

The ideal candidate will operate and program CNC horizontal milling machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in producing high-quality components. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings. The CNC Horizontal Machinist will play a vital part in maintaining our commitment to manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.

Duties

Set up, operate, and program CNC horizontal milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems
Interpret and review blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes
Utilize Mastercam for designing or modifying parts as needed
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines, and other precision instruments
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime
Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations
Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other machinery to support assembly or secondary operations when necessary
Maintain documentation of machining processes and quality checks in compliance with manufacturing standards

Qualifications

Proven experience with CNC programming
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency in Mastercam
Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, tooling selection, and machine maintenance
Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and quality standards
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
