Full Job Description

A growing organization is seeking a strategic Senior Counsel – Regulatory Compliance to join its legal department. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this attorney will lead enterprise-wide regulatory compliance initiatives, advise executive leadership on regulatory matters, and oversee compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions.

This position offers significant leadership responsibility and is designed to evolve into a Deputy General Counsel role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Lead regulatory compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
Advise business leaders on federal and state regulatory requirements and emerging legal developments.
Manage regulatory inquiries, examinations, investigations, and responses to regulatory agencies.
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, correspondence, and regulatory filings.
Partner with executive leadership to identify compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
Coordinate and manage outside counsel.
Support internal investigations and advise on legal strategy.
Develop, implement, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
Supervise legal support staff assisting with regulatory compliance matters.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active Arizona Bar license in good standing.
Minimum of five years of regulatory compliance experience, preferably within a consumer-facing industry.
Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to identify regulatory risk and develop practical, business-focused solutions.
Experience designing and implementing compliance programs preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
