Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing, communications, and public engagement strategies that support the mission and goals of United Indians of All Tribes Foundation. This position manages digital and print communications, social media, website content, media relations, and event promotion while ensuring consistent branding and culturally responsive messaging.

Working collaboratively across departments, the Specialist promotes organizational programs, services, and community impact, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and monitors marketing performance to support strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Communications

Develops and executes organization-wide marketing strategies, maintains branding standards, creates communication materials, coordinates messaging across departments, supports leadership communications, and manages relationships with media and community partners.

Content Creation & Storytelling

Creates written, visual, and video content that highlights organizational programs and impact. Collects success stories and develops culturally responsive messaging that reflects UIATF’s mission and values.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

Manages social media platforms, develops and publishes content, engages audiences, monitors trends, grows digital reach, and tracks performance metrics to improve engagement.

Website & Digital Presence

Maintains website content, improves user experience and SEO, manages digital assets, supports email marketing efforts, and works with stakeholders to enhance online platforms.

Retail Marketing

Supports retail revenue growth through promotional campaigns, product launches, merchandising initiatives, and sales events while evaluating marketing effectiveness and customer engagement.

Event Marketing & Community Engagement

Promote events and fundraisers, develop marketing materials, supports registration and fundraising platforms, coordinates event communications, captures event content, and represent the organization in the community.

Public Relations & Media Outreach

Creates press materials, coordinates media opportunities, builds relationships with journalists and community leaders, and increases positive visibility for the organization.

Analytics & Reporting

Monitors marketing performance across social media, websites, email campaigns, events, retail sales, and search performance. Provides reports and recommendations to improve results and audience engagement.

Collaboration

Works with leadership and departments across the organization to gather content, support strategic goals, provide communications expertise, and participate in organizational planning efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), 2-5 years of marketing or communications experience, strong communication and project management skills, experience in digital marketing, analytics, social media, and website management.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference for candidates with nonprofit marketing experience, retail marketing knowledge, WordPress experience, event management platform expertise, SEO and digital marketing skills, and familiarity with Native American and Indigenous communities.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, website CMS platforms, email marketing systems, social media tools, analytics platforms, and digital asset management software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and arms for routine tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required. The work environment is indoors, with moderate to high noise levels during events
