Full Job Description

If you’re looking for a smaller CPA firm where you can do good tax work, be trusted with clients, mentor developing staff and potentially build toward ownership, this could be worth a conversation.

This long-established Norwood CPA firm has been around for over 40 years and has stayed deliberately independent. No private equity plans. No sale on the horizon. The partners want to keep growing internally, and for the right person, there is genuine long-term partnership potential.

It’s an 8-person firm with two partners, and the culture is down-to-earth, collaborative and approachable. No corporate layers. No politics. Just good clients, good people and a firm that wants to keep things as reasonable as possible.

The managing partner actually started there as a staff accountant and worked his way up to ownership, which tells you a lot about the opportunity.

Job description:

You’ll be hands-on across individual and business tax, with a focus on helping manage the individual tax side of the practice.
The firm prepares around 850–900 individual returns and 250 business returns annually, including corporations, partnerships, pass-through entities, trusts and estates.
You’ll also support business returns, help with payroll reconciliations and basic accounting work, and mentor junior staff.
The client base is heavily construction-focused, particularly public bid contractors, alongside a broader mix of small businesses and individuals.
There is some audit, review and compilation work in the firm, but this role is primarily tax-focused.

Busy season is still busy, but it is clear and realistic. From mid-January through March, hours are around 55 billable hours a week, with peak season reaching up to around 65 hours through April 15.
Outside of busy season, you get half-day Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
