Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management and materials management, with experience in analyzing market trends, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure that the company’s product or service procurement needs are met.

Responsibilities

Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing and executing purchasing strategies.
Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
Developing relations with suppliers and negotiating the best possible cost with them.
Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality.
Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies.
Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed.
Working with inventory management to ensure all deliveries are fulfilled and report any missing or back-ordered items.
Selecting and ordering products and authorizing payments based on contractual agreements with suppliers or manufacturers.
Seek cost improvements in purchased products.
Lead, negotiate and execute all sourcing activities in every phase of the product life cycle.
Identifying, sourcing, and acquiring goods and services for their organization at the best value.
Negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
Ensuring procurement adheres to regulations and company policies.
Developing cost-effective procurement strategies.
Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors.
Collaborating with staff members and suppliers to meet standards.
Complete other duties at the discretion of management.

Requirements

Proven experience in inventory management, materials management, or related field.
Strong understanding of production planning processes.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data for informed decision-making.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
