Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounts Payable Specialist and become a vital contributor to our company's financial health! In this role, you will manage the end-to-end process of paying our vendors and suppliers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Your expertise will help maintain strong vendor relationships, uphold financial integrity, and support our overall accounting operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in accounting software, financial concepts, and compliance standards while working in a fast-paced environment that values precision and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Process all accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently using accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks.
Review invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies through effective communication with suppliers and internal teams.
Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable activities, including accruals and month-end closing procedures.
Maintain detailed records of all transactions, supporting documentation, and audit trails in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
Assist with accounts receivable functions and support general ledger reconciliation efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounts payable processing or related accounting functions within a corporate or public accounting setting.
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
Ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and analysis with attention to detail.
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices or non-profit accounting is advantageous.
Strong organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities to collaborate across departments such as human resources or finance teams.
