Host/Hostess— Upscale-Casual Seafood Restaurant | Buckhead | Big B's Fish Joint

The host position at Big B's Fish Joint is the first and last impression every guest gets. We need someone who is warm, composed under pressure, and sharp enough to manage a busy floor — reservations, walk-ins, phone, and waitlist — without losing the plot. If you're the kind of person who makes people feel genuinely welcome the moment they walk in the door, we want to talk.

Despite the name, we're not a counter-service fish shack — we're a full-service seafood restaurant with a full bar, wine program, and a Buckhead clientele that expects a polished experience.

What the job is...

First point of contact for every guest — greet, seat, and set the tone for the visit
Manage reservations and walk-ins simultaneously using OpenTable
Answer phones, take messages, handle to-go order intake
Communicate table turns and wait times accurately to guests and the floor team
Keep the front of house organized during high-volume happy hour and dinner service
Tuesday–Sunday (closed Mondays) — dinner shifts primary
Looking for someone interested in 3-4 shifts per week

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR...

Prior hosting or front-of-house experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
Genuinely warm and polished — you represent the restaurant before anyone orders a thing
Calm and organized when it's busy; this is not a slow-night job
Comfortable with reservation software (OpenTable experience a plus)
Strong communicator — with guests and with the floor team equally
Reliable and on time; the door has to be covered
