Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dietary cook to join our healthcare team, providing essential nutritional support and meal services to our residents. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Your positive attitude and commitment to quality care will help enhance the well-being and satisfaction of our residents, especially those in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings. Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal service in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during food production and meal assembly
Adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean working environment
Support dietary department tasks such as inventory management, food handling, and proper storage procedures
Work closely with nursing staff to accommodate special diets for residents with specific health needs
Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy items or moving supplies to prevent injury
Maintain accurate documentation related to food service activities, including sanitation logs and meal records

Skills

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and safe lifting practices
Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
Excellent manual handling skills for food preparation and equipment operation
Familiarity with adhering to dietary requirements for geriatric or special-needs populations
Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting resident needs
Basic math skills for portion control, inventory management, and meal planning
Knowledge of workplace safety protocols including PPE use and manual handling techniques
Experience with culinary tasks such as food production, serving, and meal assembly is preferred.
