Front Desk Receptionist – Primary Care Clinic
Location: Miami, FL
Job Type: Full-time

About Us
Bienestar is the medical program of Survivors’ Pathway and operates as a primary health care unit providing specialized services for victims of crime, particularly survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault, with a strong focus on HIV prevention and HIV treatment. Survivors’ Pathway’s broader mission is to restore dignity by expanding access to justice and life opportunities through coordinated legal, psychological, medical, and community services.

Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our primary care clinic team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors and is essential to creating a welcoming, respectful, and trauma-informed environment.

The ideal candidate has front desk or medical reception experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care, community health, or a related medical office, and is comfortable working with diverse populations, including individuals who may be survivors of violence or in need of supportive services.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and discretion
Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently
Answer incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
Verify insurance, collect required documentation, and maintain accurate patient records
Manage front desk flow and ensure an organized reception area
Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff regarding patient needs
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
Provide general information about clinic services and assist with referrals when appropriate
Support patients who may need additional guidance connecting to internal or community resources

Qualifications

Required: Prior experience in a medical front desk, healthcare reception, or primary care clinic setting
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
Knowledge of scheduling systems, electronic records, and standard office procedures
Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail
Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
Bilingual English/Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in primary care, community health, infectious disease, or nonprofit healthcare settings
Experience working with vulnerable populations or in a trauma-informed environment
Familiarity with patient intake, insurance verification, and referrals
