Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Real Estate Accountant who will work directly with the VP-Accounting on a daily basis to manage the accounting for large commercial and multi-family portfolio.

Responsibilities will include:

Assist with maintaining accurate financial records; prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
Support monthly and year-end closing processes.
Assemble financials for income tax preparation and prepare year-end tax related schedules for fixed assets, mortgages and portfolio investments.
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting to joint venture partners, as well as lender compliance.
Assist in quarterly tax estimate preparations for real estate entities and principals.
Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals for annual tax filings.
Assist with like-kind exchange analyses and documentation; prepare files and journal entries relating to real estate and mortgage transactions

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Preferably 2-3 years’ experience at a public accounting firm or directly for a real estate development or management organization
Partnership income tax preparation experience is a plus
Experience using Yardi, QuickBooks or Sage is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and comfortable with meeting deadlines
Must be a team player, able to work outside core business hours when needed and be willing to accept a variety of tasks to help with various departments in the firm
Full-time in office position

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
