Job Title: Workforce Development & Community Support Program Manager

Hours: Full-time, in-person

Pay Rate: $60,000 - $64,000

Reports To: Director of Wraparound Programs

Organization Description:

Developing Kingdoms In Different Stages (Developing K.I.D.S.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering communities through Youth Development, Family Engagement, Workforce Development, and Community Support. We aim to nurture leadership within each community we serve, fostering strong connections among families and individuals to build thriving communities.

Over the past four years, Developing K.I.D.S. has experienced significant growth, doubling its impact and expanding its team. As we prepare to move into our new home in 2025, we are focused on operational growth and sustainability to serve our mission for decades to come. We are a stable non-federally funded organization that is thriving and serving the community with quality programs.

General Description of Position:

Developing K.I.D.S. (Developing Kingdoms In Different Stages) is seeking a dynamic full-time Workforce Development & Community Support Program Manager to develop positive long-term relationships with youth and business/industry representatives. The desired candidate will lead team members in facilitating skill development instruction for youth year-round. All staff and volunteers must uphold high moral standards and demonstrate leadership qualities that represent Developing K.I.D.S. in a positive and respectful manner. The Workforce Development & Community Support Program Manager is responsible for carrying out the following duties:

Essential Functions

● Build and maintain strong partnerships with businesses, universities, organizations, and workforce development agencies to ensure alignment and execution of collaborative workforce and post-secondary education strategies resulting in a talent pipeline

● Provide oversight and management of partnerships and any workforce solutions and/or outputs that result from partnerships.

● Management of the summer youth employment program (GDYT) for planning, implementation, and evaluation

● Serve as support to the Youth Development leadership team for afterschool and summer locations where participants in training are placed

● Approve and implement recruitment for programs with team members

● Lead and guide the implementation of training week for summer employment

● Ability to coach and guide on-site interns working within the organization

● Ability to inspire, support, motivate, and delegate to team and volunteers

● Participate in all convenings, meetings, and conferences

● Provide guidance, support, professional development needs, and supervision of a core team of two

● Gather information for additional funding opportunities to support post-secondary education, workforce solutions and programming.

● Gather labor market information, talent demand, and skills requirements and translating data into meaningful information to create workforce development strategies

● Gather post-secondary education information to support program design

● Manage a database of potential and current worksites and/or industry representatives and maintain regular communication through appropriate channels

● Oversight of the implementation of a monthly Grief, Loss & Trauma Session hosted by partners for the community

● Oversee internship placements and conduct regular check-ins with participants and their supervisor

● Co-lead summits on college and career preparation

● Track data and information on participants and program to measure progress, success, and challenges; support grant writing and reporting

● Work with the Director of Programs to develop effective strategies to meet program goals/objectives

● Other tasks as assigned

Characteristics/Skills/Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of relevant experience equivalent

● Must have 2 years of successful managerial experience

● Highly organized and detail-oriented

● High level of self-motivation and ability to multitask

● Strong written and oral communication skills (bilingualism is a plus)

● Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders

● Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

● Demonstrated interest in the nonprofit sector

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office

● Ability to problem solve in a busy and dynamic work environment

● Strong project management skills

● Ability to work independently and without supervision

● Knowledge of economic and workforce development practices, systems, and program design

● Knowledge of youth development and workforce development training systems

● Knowledge of post-secondary education resources, system building, and best practices for youth guidance

● Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including writing, editing, and making presentations to groups and individuals

Compensation:

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
