Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dietary Cook to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this vital role, you will prepare nutritious, appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of residents and guests. Your culinary expertise will directly contribute to enhancing the well-being and satisfaction of those we serve. Duties

Prepare and cook meals according to prescribed dietary guidelines, ensuring adherence to individual dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements
Assist in food production activities, including portioning, plating, and serving meals efficiently and hygienically.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with food safety standards.
Operate kitchen appliances safely and effectively while following proper manual handling and heavy lifting practices such as loading dishes into the sanitizer machine.
Support the dietary department by bussing tables, washing dishes and cleaning food prep areas, and managing food handling procedures with care.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with safety protocols.
Manage time effectively to ensure timely meal service while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including safe lifting practices and proper use of kitchen equipment

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
Knowledge of dietary requirements for geriatric patients or individuals with special nutritional needs
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
Experience working with dietary guidelines and adhering to prescribed diets is preferred
Customer service orientation with a compassionate approach toward residents
