Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Community Outreach Worker serves as a public representative of Veterans Alliance USA by engaging with community members at fundraising events, retail locations, community gatherings, and outreach opportunities. This role focuses on educating the public about our mission, building relationships, and securing donations that directly support veterans in need.

This is an ideal position for individuals who are outgoing, self-motivated, confident speaking with the public, and passionate about making a difference in their community.

MUST BE OKAY WITH DRIVING TO SURROUNDING TOWNS IN RENO AREA.

Responsibilities

Engage with community members at fundraising and outreach locations.
Educate the public about Veterans Alliance USA’s mission and programs.
Solicit donations to support veteran services and nonprofit initiatives.
Set up and maintain professional fundraising displays and materials.
Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity.
Answer questions regarding the nonprofit’s programs and impact.
Track donations and complete required paperwork accurately.
Meet individual and team fundraising goals.
Assist with community events, awareness campaigns, and special projects.
Maintain a positive attitude while working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable speaking with strangers and working in public settings.
Reliable transportation preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Previous sales, fundraising, customer service, or outreach experience is helpful but not required.
Must represent the organization professionally at all times.

Compensation & Benefits

$15.00 per hour base pay.
30% commission on donations raised.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Weekend availability may be required for certain events.
Flexible scheduling based on fundraising locations and events.
