Full Job Description

Position Summary

SFP Landscaping, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant - II to support our Accounting Department. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and accounts payable functions, and assisting with daily operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, team oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable learning and utilizing Aspire Landscape Software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.

SFP Landscaping, Inc. has proudly served the St. Louis area for over 40 years, specializing in commercial landscape maintenance, design/build construction, irrigation, and vegetation management. We are committed to delivering exceptional customer service through quality workmanship, responsive communication, and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

Accounting Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices and assist with Accounts Payable.
Match purchase orders, receipts, and vendor invoices for payment.
Maintain vendor files, W-9s, credit applications, and lien waivers.
Assist with weekly and monthly check runs.
Reconcile credit card transactions and organize supporting receipts.
Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
File and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable documentation.
Support month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Customer Invoicing
Follow purchasing protocols in management system.

Additional Duties

Assist with insurance certificates and documentation.
Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel.
Assist with special projects and administrative duties to support company operations.

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with:
Quickbooks
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word/Outlook

Preferred

Knowledge of purchase orders and job costing.
Experience in construction, landscaping, or service industries.
Experience using Aspire or other landscape software.
